Dr. Eric Thevissen completed his master’s degree in Dentistry at KULeuven in 1983 and his Master of Science in Periodontology in 1986. He is a lecturer in the Bachelor program for oral hygienists at UCLL in Leuven, Belgium, and an iTOP lecturer.
Dr. Eric Thevissen graduated as a dentist in 1983 and specialized in periodontics and oral implants in 1986 at KU Leuven, Belgium. Since 1988, he has been working as a private periodontist in Hasselt, Belgium, and has served as a part-time staff member at the Department of Periodontology and Oral Implants at UGent since 2006. Since 2017, he has also been a part-time lecturer at the UCLL Department of Dental Hygiene in KU Leuven.
Dr. Thevissen continues to serve as a reserve major at the military hospital in Neder-Over-Heembeek, Belgium. In 2022, he began a training program in forensic dentistry.
Throughout his career, Dr. Thevissen has held various positions in national professional associations and is a member of both national and international dental organizations. He has authored 20 publications and is a regular guest speaker at professional events.
