Dr. Diego Cruz specialized in Oral and Reconstructive Implantology at CIEO in 2004. He has been a professor at Uni-CIEO since 2008 and a founding member of ASEIOR, becoming an iTOP instructor in 2019. He runs a private practice with his wife and enjoys family time, mountain biking, and tennis.

Diego Cruz graduated in Dentistry from the National University of Colombia in 1994. He specialized in Oral and Reconstructive Implantology at the CIEO University Foundation Research Center for Dental Studies – Nueva Granada Military University in Bogotá, Colombia, in 2004. Since 2008, he has been a professor in the Postgraduate Courses in Oral Rehabilitation and Reconstructive Implantology at Uni-CIEO University, and in 2023, he joined the Academic Council of the university.

Diego was a founding member of the Colombian Academy of Piezoelectric Surgery in 2009 and ASEIOR, the Colombian Association of Specialists in Oral Implantology, in 2012. He also runs a private practice with his wife, Marcela, who is an implant dentist.

He completed the iTOP Introductory Course in March 2015, the iTOP Advanced Course in November 2017, and became an iTOP Instructor in March 2019 in Bogotá, Colombia. He is dedicated to promoting oral health through preventive care.

Diego is married and the proud father. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, mountain biking, and playing tennis.

iTOP completely changed my mindset from focusing on restorative dentistry to prioritizing true prevention. It is a philosophy that emphasizes personalized teaching and the Touch to Teach method, which has proven to be the most effective and motivating way to educate patients. Since applying iTOP, I have seen remarkable improvements in my patients’ oral health, with less gingival disease and peri-implantitis.
