Dr. Juan Daniel Arguello Torres, Periodontist, educator, and clinician from Ecuador, passionate about prevention, periodontal health, and teaching at leading universities in Quito.

Dr. Juan Daniel Arguello Torres, DDS, graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Santiago de Guayaquil Catholic University in 2015 and obtained his specialization in Periodontics from the Central University of Ecuador in 2018.

He completed his rural service at the José Rodríguez Maridueña Infectious Disease Hospital in Guayaquil, where he provided dental care to patients affected by infectious diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, and sexually transmitted infections. Since then, Dr. Arguello has dedicated his practice in Quito to periodontal therapy and preventive care.

In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in academia, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students at several universities, including the Central University of Ecuador, Hemisferios University, SEK International University, and the International University of Ecuador.

His professional interests focus on the prevention and management of periodontal diseases, the link between oral and systemic health, and modern approaches to patient education.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Arguello enjoys spending time with his family. He is a husband and proud father to Benjamin, who brings joy and inspiration to his daily life.

For me, iTOP is a practical and empowering approach to dentistry. It reinforces our responsibility for guiding patients' hygiene and highlights the essential role of biofilm control through proper techniques and tools. Since adopting iTOP, my focus on prevention has strengthened significantly. My daily practice is guided by ethics and a commitment to improving my patients’ quality of life.
