Oral Biofilm Management - from Issues to Healthy Tissues

Efficient patient training and motivation regarding daily oral biofilm management is an essential aspect of dental care. To achieve this objective, the dental healthcare provider should be trained in a systematic way to acquire the practical skills required to teach optimal biofilm management to their patients through the Touch to Teach (T2T) approach.
This approach will enable the health care professionals to have a hands-on experience, feel and understand the challenges encountered by their patients during their daily oral hygiene practices and recognize the importance of delivering oral hygiene instructions in a structured practical approach rather than only verbal instructions which may result in subjective interpretation and partial translation of the message to all category of patients.

1. Discuss the biology of the periodontium and its impact on preventive oral health care measures
2. Explain the challenges of practicing efficient oral biofilm management
3. Demonstration of  Touch to Teach methods for Biofilm Management
