10th annual iTOP Symposium

Perfect self-care is attainable, but mastering the necessary skills is a hands-on affair. This October 2024 top iTOP lecturers will gather in Switzerland for Curaden Academy’s 10^th iTOP Symposium. The symposium serves as a recall for the lecturers to hone their own prevention skills, so they can, in turn, be the best prevention coach to their own patients.

The dental practice of the future

iTOP - short for individually trained oral prophylaxis - is a hands-on training programme designed by Czech prevention pioneer Dr Jirzi sedelmayer. It sets the gold standard for teaching individual prophylaxis, and provides dental professionals with clear guidelines for instructing patients through a learning-by-doing approach. iTOP is increasingly being implemented at universities, offering dental students a rare opportunity to practice their practical biofilm management skills.

The annual iTOP Symposium serves as an important refresher for an international panel of top iTOP lecturers to practice and update their own skills. By mastering perfect individual prophylaxis themselves, they can in turn provide patients with the most effective instructions on using the right tools and techniques.
