Dr. Cristina Rizea graduated the Dental Faculty of Carol Davila University in Bucharest in 2011. She then pursued a 3 years Residency Program in Prosthetic Dentistry and a 3 years PhD Program in the field of Removable Dentures and Implant Overdentures. Professor David Williams (DW) is Head of the Oral and Biomedical Sciences research theme in the School of Dentistry at Cardiff University. DW is also a principle investigator within the Microbial Diseases Research Group, where his studies primarily focus on microbial biofilms and their association with human infection. Over 65% of hospital infections have a biofilm origin and the treatment of these infections is highly problematic given their high resistance to antimicrobials. As such, biofilm research is extremely important and also timely, given global concerns over the emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). To facilitate his research, DW has expertise in biofilm modelling, profiling microbial communities and analysis of microbial gene expression. Ongoing research projects involve the study of the oral microbiome and its relationship with cardiovascular health, assessing how the biofilm environment modulates behavior and virulence of associated opportunistic pathogens, and how oral biofilms may contribute to respiratory infections.

Dr. James Kouzoukian is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry having received his DDS degree in 1984. He has extensive experience as an expert witness in Dental-Legal matters, having worked with attorneys in such matters since 1987. Dr. Kouzoukian has presented seminars on TMJ Dysfunction, Digital Imaging and Oral Hygiene and has completed a group of ten presentations for Aegis Communications for whom he lectured nationwide in 2014 and 2015. Dayo Oliver was born in 1981 as the daughter of a Swiss mother and an American father. After completing her examination at an international school she attended the midwives college in St. Gallen.

Since 2006 she works as a certified midwife. For two years, Dayo Oliver has worked side-by-side in a doctor’s office specialised in ​​fertility problems and artificial insemination. She currently works at a renowned Zurich hospital and holds classes throughout Switzerland.

Since the beginning of her career, she has helped to bring around 300 children into the world. Being a midwife is a passion for Dayo Oliver. She has been living with her partner for 19 years and is the mother of two sons and one daughter.

Dr. Dillenberg is Dean Emeritus of A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ASDOH) after serving fifteen years as the Inaugural Dean. After dental school he served as a Dentist in the US Navy then practiced at a residential facility for people with severe disabilities before moving to Jamaica to work in a very rural clinic for their Ministry of Health.

Prior to joining ASDOH, Dr. Dillenberg was Associate Director for public health programs in the California Department of Health Services and prior to that served as an Area Health Officer serving the west area of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.

During most of the 1990s, Dr. Dillenberg served in several capacities in the Arizona Department of Health Services, including four years as its Director.

Dr. Dillenberg is the recipient of a great number of honors and awards, including the Arizona Medical Association Humanitarian of the Year, the Fresh Start Foundation Man of the Year, the Harvard School of Public Health Alumni Award of Merit and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry. Most recently, the American Association of Public Health Dentistry 2019 Distinguished Service Award.

He currently is the executive clinical director for the newly created non-profit Pacific Dental Services Special Needs Dental Clinic in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Dillenberg serves as the Board President of Global Smiles For All a 501c3 nonprofit making a difference in global oral health. He also serves as the Global Ambassador for the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry, and currently is the Board Chairman for the Brighterway Institute. Dr. Nikos Mattheos graduated from the Dental Faculty University of Athens. He completed his PhD degree in the University of Malmö, in Sweden where he also received specialist training in Periodontology. He then completed a 3-year residency with focus on Implant Dentistry and Fixed Prosthodontics in the department of Periodontology and Fixed Prosthodontics in the University of Bern, Switzerland under Professor N.P Lang. He served as Associate Professor of Implant Dentistry in Griffith University, Gold Coast, Australia, where he designed and di-rected the Master of Science in Implant Dentistry Programme.

His research evolves around many aspects of implant dentistry, peri-implant tissue inflammations and bone regeneration and is disseminated through more than 80 publications in international peer reviewed journals and he has received the IADR researcher’s award in 2003 and 2013. He has served at the position of Associate Professor in the University of Malmo (Sweden) and Griffith University (Australia). He is currently As-sociate Professor and Associate Dean in the Faculty of Dentistry, the University of Hong Kong, where he directs two postgraduate pro-grammes in Implant Dentistry and is active with teaching, research and patient care.

He has designed and directed the 1st Massive Open Online Course in Implant Dentistry, to be launched in In October 2016 in Coursera by the University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Tony Hashemian, DDS is an international speaker and Associate Dean for Global Oral Health and Assistant Professor at Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ASDOH). Dr. Hashemian earned a B.A. in physiology from the University of Minnesota and is a graduate of Creighton University

Louis Malcmacher DDS, MAGD, maintains a general dental and facial esthetic practice in Cleveland, Ohio.   He is an internationally known lecturer, author, and dental consultant, known for his comprehensive and entertaining style.    Dr. Malcmacher is the President of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, an evaluator emeritus for Clinicians Report, a master of the Academy of General Dentistry, a fellow of the International Association of Dental Facial Esthetics, a fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute, a visiting lecturer at a number of Universities, a contributing editor for Dentistry Today, a spokesperson for the Academy of General Dentistry, has served as a consultant to the Council on Dental Practice of the American Dental Association, a monthly columnist and contributing editor for Dental Economics,  AGD Impact, Dental Tribune, and The Dentist’s Network Newsletter.

Prof. Dr. Ivo Krejci graduated from the University of Basel, Switzerland, and received his Dr. med. dent. degree in 1986 and his Privatdozent (Switzerland) in 1993 from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He is fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials and has a postgraduate specialisation diploma of the Swiss Society of Preventive and Restorative Dentistry.

He is past president of the Swiss Society of Preventive and Restorative Dentistry, past president of the Academy of Operative Dentistry European Section, past member of the editorial board of the Journal of Dental Research and member of several associations. Prof. Krejci has published over 270 articles and book chapters on restorative concepts, esthetics, posterior composites, tooth colored adhesive inlays, onlays and adhesive slot bridges, light curing, adhesion, glass ionomers, base materials, finishing techniques, compomers and lasers and he is author of three textbooks.

Prof. Krejci has supervised more than 60 doctoral theses and has lectured on numerous international scientific meetings and continuing education courses. He is currently Ordinary Professor and Chairman of the Division of Cariology and Endodontology, Director of the Department of Preventive Dentistry and Primary Dental Care and President of the Section of Dental Medicine at the University of Geneva, Switzerland.

Louise has been fundamental in bringing the iTOP philosophy to the UK, where she is UK & Ireland Education and iTOP Manager. In 2010 she developed and implemented the UK Curaprox Student Programme which is now established in UK and Ireland dental universities and dental hospitals.

Edward qualified in 2001 and after a two-year residency in Oral Surgery and Restora-tive Dentistry, Edward worked for one year at the prestigious Edinburgh Postgraduate Dental Institute. During this time he obtained his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, RCS Edinburgh.
In 2005, Edward commenced the four year specialist training programme in Perio-dontology at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental Institute and obtained his MSc and MClinDent in Periodontology, both with distinction. He also obtained the Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and has been awarded his CCST for entry to the GDC Specialist Register in Periodontology. Edward has presented his research at the Pan European Festival of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) in London, and won the AstraTech® Perio-dontology Award for the implant case presented for his specialist exams.

Before returning to Malta, Edward spent five years in London practicing as a visiting specialist in prestigious private practices and was appointed as a Postgraduate Clini-cal Teacher at KCL Guy’s campus, guiding students towards the MClinDent in Perio-dontology. In addition to this, he was involved in other educational projects for dentists including surgical masterclasses, postgraduate teaching days, and leading one of London’s ITI Study Clubs.

Edward’s main project now is leading his father’s dental practice forward as Sammut Specialists. He has also maintained his interest in teaching and holds the post of Visit-ing Lecturer at the University of Malta, is the Director of the ITI Study Club Malta and mentors young dentists in implant treatment.
He is a member of the British Society of Periodontology, the European Federation of Periodontology, the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and theDental Associa-tion of Malta.

Elizabeth qualified from Bart’s and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2001. She obtained two Distinctions at finals and won several undergraduate awards including the prestigious Draper Prize for Academic Excellence.

Following completion of her vocational training, Elizabeth undertook an eighteen month rotation as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During this time she successfully completed her professional training and obtained her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons (England).

In June 2009 she completed the four year specialist training programme in Periodon-tology at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental Institute, London. During this time she obtained her Masters of Science in Periodontology with merit, her Masters of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology with distinction and her Membership examination in Re-storative Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). Her research into the health beliefs and attitude to quitting smoking in periodontal patients has been pub-lished in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology. Currently, Elizabeth works both in private practice at Sammut Specialists and at the University of Malta as a Visiting Lecturer.

She is a member of the International Team of Implantology, the British Society of Periodontology, the European Federation of Periodontology and the American Acad-emy of Periodontology (International Member).

Dr Gluckman completed his dental training at the University of
Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1990. After spending a number of
years in a general practice he completed a 4-year full time degree in
Oral Medicine and Periodontics at the University of Stellenbosch in
Cape Town, which he completed with distinction (cum Laude) in 1998.
He was intimately involved in the development of the postgraduate
diploma in Implantology at both the University of Stellenbosch and
later at the University of Western Cape. He is currently in full time
private practice in Cape Town.

Dr Gluckman was the author of a monthly Implantology Corner for the
South African Dental Journal and is the immediate past president of
the South African Society for Dental Implantology and on the board of
the Southern African Association of Osseointegration (SAAO). He has
served as the secretary of the South African Society of Periodontics.

He has lectured extensively nationally and internationally and is a
member of Dentsply/Friadent’s Master Speakers Program. He is on
the experts panel of the international educational website Dental XP
and is on the Dental XP scientific board. He is the director of the Implant and
Aesthetic Academy (IAA), which is a private post graduate training facility in
South Africa which provides education in implantology and aesthetic dentistry.

Tihana Divnic-Resnik is a senior clinical lecturer in the Discipline of Periodontics at the University of Sydney. Previously, she was a lecturer in Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Belgrade, Serbia for 10 years, where she also practiced as a specialist of Periodontology and Oral Medicine.

As a discipline expert in Periodontics, she is continuously exploring and implementing innovations in clinical training of the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH) and DClinDent students. With her team, she developed an online platform for simulation training and continuous education in periodontal instrumentation, www.iperiopal.com. Her passion in research resulted in significant national and international collaborations and establishment of a strong base for research of ground-breaking significance for dentistry. As a clinician and researcher, she enjoys designing and supervising research projects of graduate (DMD) and postgraduate students (DClinDent), and translating evidence into her teaching and clinical practice.

Her Master thesis was related to periodontal regeneration with synthetic bone grafts and PhD research focused on the bone morphogenetic proteins and their role in alveolar socket preservation. She has published her work in several international journals and presented it at numerous professional conferences. Her research interests lie mainly in the areas of periodontal therapy, bone regeneration, tissue management, oral microbiology and locally delivered oral microbials.

Tihana is a member of Australian Dental Association (ADA), Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) and a certified instructor for iTOP oral prophylaxis program. As an educator, she is involved in continued professional education for dentists and dental professionals in Europe and Australasia.

Thomas Viola, the founder of “Pharmacology Declassified”, is a board-certified pharmacist who also serves the professions of dentistry as a clinical educator, professional speaker and published author. He has made numerous contributions to our understanding of the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes, his most important being the identification of an inflammatory process underlying failure of insulin production in this disease. Thereby he showed that metabolic stress induces an IL-1β mediated immune response. He confirmed this hypothesis in the first clinical study showing that modulation of the immune system may improve metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes. His work has fundamentally contributed to the concept that the innate immune system is an integral component in the regulation of metabolism, i.e. immunometabolism.

Dr Joanna Slowik is adjunct professor at the Dental Institute, Medical College, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland since 2012.

Since her graduation in 1998, Dr Slowik specialized pediatric dentistry, conservative dentistry and endodontics.

She was visiting professor at University of Reims and University of Paul Sabatier in France.

Dr Slowik is active researcher, author of many scientific papers and speaker at national and international dental congresses.

Dr. Yoko Matsushita was born in Kagoshima, Japan. She received DDS in 1987 from the Kagoshima University Faculty of Dentistry in Kagoshima, Japan. She worked at the prosthetic and restorative division of the Kagoshima University Hospital since 1987 to 2001. During the later period, she worked as a faculty of Kagoshima University Medical and Dental science.

Since 2001, she has been working as a part time general dentist in the private practice and as an English interpreter specially for Dental conferences and for the lectures given by prominent speakers from around the world. She has translated many scientific and dental literatures, books and presentations.

She is a member of several periodontal, prosthetic, and Implant societies.  She is one of the founders of Women Dentists’ Club that is the first study club for female dentists. She has been devoted herself as a board member to the “Osseointegration Study Club of Japan” since 2010.  Her recent interests are preventive dentistry, gerontology and geriatric dentistry.

Jacquie Sansom RDH Qualified at Glasgow Dental Hospital, Scotland. Jacquie has over 35 + years as a dental hygienist working in general and private practice. She is a Touch to Teach tutor / instructor and is passionate in supporting students and delegates at iTOP seminars in the UK since 2013.

Sabina Floridia,RDH, born on 16th of April 1973 in Amsterdam (NL) is half Dutch half Italian. Graduated in 1997 at SOM/ACTA in Amsterdam. This is where her passion for prevention and motivation began. After working in various dental practices in the Netherlands, Italy and South America, she moved to Bergamo in 2004, where she still lives and works.

Her passion for prevention led Sabina to develop a free prevention project for schools that also includes a funny song and e-book.

As the years went by, she also discovered the desire of motivating colleagues by sharing how to keep an everlasting passion as a dental professional through a positive mindset. She did the first online challenge for dental hygienists to discover, re-discover or confirm their passion as a dental professional.

In 2018 Sabina was contacted by Curaden AG to test the BOB-App in Italy and later became officially part of the team as a trainer and consultant. This turns out to be the perfect assignment to combine all passions, such as prevention, motivation, creativity and mindset. As an international speaker, she provides training through theoretical and practical courses and trains dental professionals from all over the world to use and integrate the BOB App during oral health treatment. In 2021 she attended the iTOP Teacher course in Prague and is an official iTOP lecturer from 2022.
