Non Surgical Periodontal Therapy: New Clinical Protocols with the adjunctive use of diode laser

The entire dental team,  but first and foremost the dentist and dental hygienists, they must know tools, techniques , protocols, and strategies to achieve a therapeutic alliance with the patient, thanks to which you can attain clinical stability of the treated cases. During the presentation, a series of cases will be illustrated, finalized with  satisfactory results, both from the biological and aesthetic point of view. The goal of non-surgical periodontal instrumentation is to remove anything that is harmful to the patient's oral health, preserving biological substance, in a non- traumatic way to the hard and soft tissues. The diagnostic phase is always crucial. The initial management of a patient with periodontal problems, from the first visit to revaluation, following initial preparation will be fully explained. We will comment on the Modus Operandi ie, clinical ethics, which must guide the operator, using video and numerous drawings, highly educational. Calculus detection is essential, for site-specific instrumentation. Furthermore, guidance on protocols for appointment schedule, in clinical practice, will be provided. The causal therapy can be summed up in two essential elements: home care and professional hygiene. Drawings and clinical images will enhance and give prominence to the right tools and techniques, indispensable for maintaining clinical stability.  Non surgical periodontal instrumentation, both manual and mechanical, will be described in detail and step by step, emphasizing strategies and techniques, which allow to improve clinical results, whilst protecting patient comfort, with a rich iconography. The diode laser is introduced as an aid to surgical periodontal instrumentation, discussing: indications, limits and protocols. The laser is a tool that does not replace traditional clinical methods, but it may offer additional benefits, when used with adequate protocols, suggested by a careful review of the evidence-based dental literature. Numerous clinical cases, with a several year follow-up, will be presented to support the use of this additional approach, illustrating the operative technique in detail, including clinical parameters. The effectiveness of non-surgical periodontal treatment depends on manual skills of the clinician but also on appropriate instrument selection, like extra fine o specific  inserts for ultrasonic debridment with modified technique. The management of the periodontal patient culminates in Periodontal Maintenance Therapy , which will be described in the case studies presented.

学习目标
